...a bit of this, a bit of that...

Still here! And time flies...

Hubby came home from Houston a month ago, slipped on some stairs, fell, and broke 2 ribbones...so he's been slow going this last month. He's back in Houston now, and we hope he'll get back home in time for Christmas.

We've been sheepherding again,(in October some time) the kids went with me, and we came down with a flock. Still missing lots of lambs though. This is the view from the mountain behind us...we don't see our farm here, it's "under" the head of DD2.

Heisann! Er her fortsatt...

DS1 was home too.
Eldstesønnen var også hjemme. And here's the wool...
Og her er ulla...

I've been back to Selja too. There is a lot of work and registration going on there. A group of youths has been repairing the path, taking out old and broken pieces and putting in fresh materials. Not done cleaning up though...

Here you see Stadtlandet in the horizon, from Selja.
Her ser vi mot Stadtlandet i horisonten

The Abbey.
Klosteret.

When I came out, I didn't see any sheep at all, so I went behind the abbey and looked up towards Sunnivahelleren. Suddenly something moved, so I called, and before long the whole flock stood on the stonewall loking down at me, and then they came rolling down the hill, and followed me to the boatshed where we feed them. I haven't been there for quite some time, but they didn't hesitate to come, ate grains out of my hand, and gathered around.

Here they are inside the boatshedwalls. I brought a few of the young rams home with me, and have to get back out to get some more. The sheep and the big ram will stay at the island all winter, with just some supervision and extra feeding if there's a lot of snow (which seldom happens here)

That's enough about the sheep...
Men det får være nok om sauene...
Now over to something else...sewing! I really like my new Janome! It even has letters! So I've made a few personalized socks! Gina posted a great tutorial for the cutest little Christmasstockings! I've never done any patchwork, and maybe this isn't considered being"proper", but it was really fun, and I've made a few for the kids. I plan to put some sweets in them and hang them on the tree. Name up front, year on the back...
Over til noe annet-sying!

That little square could be used to make a cone too! I lined it and sewed it together with a ribbon attached for the loop.

...in a row...
..lang,lang rekke...

I've made some bigger cones too, it's a square that's been sewn together with buttons. (Each square is 23 cm/10inches)

In other news...I've started to learn weaving ...every Tuesday from now throughout April...we are four in all, and three of us from the same place. So far it's fun, but difficult! Haven't taken any photos yet, but hopefully later? It's just that when we get together and start working, I forget all about the camera, because we are so busy!
There's been knitting going on too, both socks and mittens, I just can't find the pictures again! Anyway, this post has enough photos as it is!

I'll leave you with today's view...on a grey, dull, wet day...( but it turned out to be a lot of blue in that photo...)

Da får dere få dagens utsikt...grått, vått og dystert...(men det var faktisk ganske mye blått i bildet likevel...hmmm..)

Have a great day- and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you elebrating that day!

Good to see you back! I've been checking:) It sounds like you have been busy in lots of ways. I love hearing about your shepherding experiences...from the comfort of my nice comfortable couch, ha, ha.

Sorry to hear about your husband. Poor guy.

Broken ribs are so painful... your husband has my pity.

Your posts are always so rewarding! Lots of lovely stories and photos. Sorry to hear about hubby. That's no fun at all.

You've been really busy - as usual, I suppose. We had a great Thanksgiving but the night before I almost burnt down my house (with my dog and cat inside) by leaving a pot of chicken on the stove and leaving the house! All is well, just some smoke damage. It reminded me to be thankful indeed for all of my blessings.

Hi Marit, so lovely to hear from you. I love the things you have been making. It's great that your new Janome is going to make so many people smile.

Welsh sheep have the same attitude to those who feed them especially if they were bottle fed lambs themselves once upon a time. I'm glad they did come for you or you would've had a long hunt.

Stor klem

I've always liked things like sand clocks, lava lamps, and the like to good of rightful spend in days of yore staring at it as a cut of catharsis. In a course, it helps me with meditation, to mitigate stress and decent fantasize just about nothing. That's why since I was a kid, in preference to of dolls and cars I've eternally sedate more of such pieces like sand clocks, lava lamps, harmonious boxes etc. So I was most enchanted when I start the 2-Laser + LED Light Show Laser Top Gyroscope with Music Effects from DealtoWorld.com answerable to the Toys section. It's like a harmonious thump, a spinning exceed, and a radiance show all rolled into one. Which is great diversion! The gyroscope pleasure concoct for around a minute. The laser slight pretension with accompanying music makes this gyroscope a rather corresponding exactly fiddle with that my friends have also been most amused with.

My dogs are also pretty outr?around the laser gyroscope I got from DealtoWorld.com. They unceasingly attend the gyroscope as it spins, although at first place they kept barking at the laser light show, and also because it produces music. But after they got worn it, they've stopped barking but due maintain following the gyroscope whenever I start spinning it. Kids are also unbelievably amused nearby it. Sometimes it's good to possess entertaining toys on all sides the ancestry so that you can leave the diminutive on while the kids are being amused or playing with it while you open to prepare food or get changed. The gyroscope is unified such play with with this purpose.

The gyroscope I bought from DealtoWorld.com has a dragon as a map on it, and produces a gegenschein indicate with red, blue, and green colours. Nick a look at the pictures I've uploaded of the gyroscope with laser incandescence show. The music produced from the gyroscope is not that renowned but allowable adequacy to entertain any chic roomer to the house. The gyroscope is red and negro, making it look extraordinarily cold, and to some arrogant with that dragon imprint.

The music dismount attack make clear gyroscope runs on 6 LR44 batteries, which are replaceable anyway. I've also used this gyroscope to surprise my girlfriend during our anniversary celebration. I did the cheesy chore of decorating the b & b room with roses and when I led her in, I started up the gyroscope as well so that the laser brighten expose produces a fresh effect. I also had some battery operated candles so all the understanding effects created a rather romantic atmosphere. She loved it, at near the style, to my relief. I also bought the candles from DealtoWorld.com. These days it seems to be my default shopping site suitable all gifts and ideas in behalf of romantic occasions.

Since Christmas is coming, this laser light playing gyroscope can maybe be a great Christmas favour for the toddler or methodical the mollycoddle! Alternatively, the gyroscope can simply be a gracious totalling to the usual Christmas decorations. I can fancy placing it near the Christmas tree and perchance spinning it when guests hit town in the house. Looks like DealtoWorld.com is getting my business still again!
